The November 1st edition of Family Circle magazine has a two-page article
entitled, "Herbal Remedies That Really Work" (www.familycircle.com).
The American Botanical Council (ABC) was the primary source of information
for this article along with Donald Brown, ND and David Heber, MD, Director
of the UCLA Center for Dietary Supplements. The article is printed on
perforated card stock for easy removal and long term use long after the
magazine has been recycled or thrown away. ABC supplied information from
their forthcoming book, The ABC Clinical Guide to Herbs (The Guide) (www.herbalgram.org),
a continuing education module accredited for multiple healthcare professions
This positive publicity is a much-needed breath of fresh
air considering so much of the negative publicity that herbs have been
receiving. This is an example of the success of ABC's Media Education
Campaign.
According to Family Circle (with a readership of
21 million people), based on ABC's information the following 15 herbs
"really work":
1. Aloe Vera
2. Arnica
3. Black Cohosh
4. Chamomile
5. Echinacea
6. Evening Primrose Oil
7. Feverfew
8. Garlic
9. Ginger
10. Ginkgo Biloba
11. Ginseng
12. Peppermint
13. Psyllium
14. St. John's Wort
15. Valerian
Single copies of The ABC Clinical Guide to Herbs are available
