How to Maintain Energy Levels This Summer
With all the outdoor summer activities that await you this summer, you’ll probably need to find ways to help support your energy. There are plenty of easy steps you can take to keep up throughout the dog days of summer, and beyond.
Get the day going with H20
It’s always tempting to fall back on your old friend caffeine to start the day off right, and that’s okay if you’re a one-cup-a-day kind of person. But if you find that one cup is regularly leading to three, or five a day…then consider a long-term solution to help support your energy metabolism.
If you’re not sure how to do that without caffeine, remember good old H2O! There’s nothing like drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning to get the day started. Drinking lots of water is a great way to add a little spring to your step, as is eating water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumbers, and peppers. Keeping your body well hydrated, especially during the hot and humid (depending on your locale) summer months, will help you feel more awake and alert.

Exercise to feel great all day, every day!
If you’re thinking “won’t exercise make me feel tired and exhausted?”, the answer is surprisingly no. Being active actually helps support your energy levels. Exercising, even for as little as 10 minutes a day, will refresh and invigorate you. Still can’t make the time commitment? Try a few minutes of jumping jacks, pushups and squats before you get into the shower each morning. Aerobic activity really gets your blood pumping and circulating, which can leave you feeling energized and ready to take on your day.
